Green sprouting broccoli matures faster, harvests for longer and grows more densely than traditional broccoli making for twice the yields.
The sprouting variety matures in 60 days compared to 85 to 92 days for normal broccoli, while its medium large sprouts allow 14,800 plants per acre compared with 10,000 plants for the ordinary plant. Its abundance of fleshy stalks also continue to develop after its main head, of 300-400 grams, is harvested, earning from Sh40 to Sh80 a kilo.
