Guidelines for sponsored content
Content relevance and quality
Posts must be relevant to FarmBizAfrica’s audience and offer genuine value to readers.
They must offer a high standard of writing, clarity, and accuracy.
Posts should be educational rather than overly promotional to keep the audience engaged.
Originality and uniqueness
The content must be unique, original, and not published elsewhere.
Posts must not be plagiarised or AI-generated. They will be checked for plagiarisation and for AI-generated text, unless the use of AI is explicitly agreed.
SEO and linking
Posts may contain a maximum of one do-follow link to the sponsor’s website.
Links must be relevant and add value, not appear overly promotional, and link to reputable pages.
Links may not be included to product pages or affiliate links.
Tone, style, and formatting
The tone must be highly accessible, free of jargon and written for English as a second language, using plain language that is easy to understand.
The format must be free of sub-headings, to a length of between 500 and 1,500 words, and may include up to three images.
Disclosure and transparency
There will be clear disclosure that the post is sponsored
FarmBizAfrica will include an “About Our Sponsor” section at the bottom of the post, provided by the sponsor with any amendments agreed by the FarmBizAfrica editors.
Images and media
Any images included must be high-quality, licensed, and relevant.
Embedded media (videos, infographics) need pre-approval to ensure they align with FarmBizAfrica’s standards.
Editing and approval rights
FarmBizAfrica reserves the right to edit the post for clarity, tone, and SEO before publishing.
Any edits by FarmBizAfrica editors will be sent back to the sponsor for approval.
Promotion and timelines
Posts will go live within 72 hours of content sign-off and will be published permanently on the blog.
All social media promotion and email campaigns will be concluded within one week of the publication of the post on FarmBizAfrica.
Payment terms and contract
Payment is required in full ahead of publication.
A written agreement formalising these terms, and including the cancellation policy and exclusivity requirement, will be issued together with the invoice, on booking.
