    Sh300,000 grants open to youth & women agribusinesses in Western Kenya

    Pepea Na AgriBiz is looking to fund 100 micro, small, and medium-sized youth, and women-led agribusiness enterprises in Western Kenya. 

    The initiative will be based in Bungoma, Siaya, Kakamega, Vihiga, and Kisumu counties and will award up to Sh300,000 seed grants to successful businesses in: 

    1. Poultry, 
    2. Groundnuts, 
    3. Passion fruits, and 
    4. Apiculture value chains.

    The program is an initiative by Kisumu-based technology and social innovation hub  LakeHub in partnership with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ).

    It seeks to accelerate businesses by offering:

    1. Business development training,
    2. Investor readiness,
    3. Crowdfunding,
    4. Business coaching,
    5. Access to seed grant award of up to Sh300,000
    6. Certificate

    To be successfully accepted into the program, the following eligibility criteria MUST be fulfilled in the first selection stage:

    1. The business must be under youth-led management (18-35 years)
    2. 5-10 employees
    3. At least Sh100,000 monthly turnover
    4. Proof of recent business operations
