Onesmus Gitonga,a poultry farmer in Nanyuki is rearing bantams a variety of exotic birds that is now earning him 10 times more weekly than the common chicken variety. Despite its small size, an adult bantam retails at Sh4000 compared to chicken that retails at Sh400.
Aside from the bantams, he also sells turkeys females at Sh4000, males at Sh6000, Pekin ducks at Sh2500 and other ornamental birds.
