FarmBizAfrica has not previously accepted advertising or sponsored content, but as of 1st November 2024 has opened to individual advertisers and sponsors.

Our news and guides serve a highly targeted niche audience of smallholder farmers in Africa, with our largest audience based in Kenya, accounting for 55 per cent of our unique visitors with an engagement rate of 43 per cent across cookie-enabled users.

The demographics of our cookie-enabled readers from all markets is a split of 60.1 per cent male, and 39.9 per cent female, with 20.4 per cent aged 18-24 years, and 56.1 per cent aged 18 – 34 years.

In Kenya, a survey of 155 FarmBizAfrica readers in January 2024 found 90.1 per cent owned their own land, and 87.1 per cent were farming from ½ to 5 acres. Their farm locations are widely spread across the country, as shown on the right.

The  top 10 markets across Africa after Kenya, accounting for a further 4.5% of FarmBizAfrica’s unique visitors, are Nigeria, Uganda, South Africa, Zimbabwe,Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zambia, Malawi, Somalia, and Ghana.

The remaining 40 per cent of cookie-enabled unique visitors are spread across 128 countries, and are predominantly farmers, but include NGOs and agricultural policy organisations. 

FarmBizAfrica enjoys over 8,000 visitors a day, according to Webalizer server-based analytics, reading an average of 3.75 pages each.

FarmBizAfrica runs a full array of social media accounts, of which the longest standing are FaceBook with 34,000 followers and X with 31,000.

It additionally issues a weekly direct email newsletter to over 6,000 subscribers.
