Farmbiz Africa invites farmers and traders for a training workshop on how to export farm produce

Farmers at a past event in Nyamira County

Our premier farming website in Kenya, Farmbiz Africa is inviting individual entrepreneurs including farmers and traders for a workshop aimed at training them on how to export farm produce and make more sales.

The one-day training event which is scheduled to take place next week 7th October 2019 will be convened at FarmBiz Africa offices at New Kitisuru, Nairobi targeting 30-60 growers and 10 buyers for export.

It will feature trade experts, industry association, market researchers and exporters from Kenya Trade Network Agency (KenTrade), Fresh Produce Consortium of Kenya (FPC Kenya), Research Tree Africa and Farmbiz Africa.

They will provide producers and buyers with the latest trends and requirements for players in the international agricultural markets to enable them fast track their move into export sales.

In addition, we aim to make available vital information on the best production practices for farmers and provide buyers’ contacts, and a guide to executing export sales administratively, logistically, and financially.

In this, we believe that farmers will be able to know how to locate export market opportunities, understand the export process, know how to navigate the major export documents required by governments, transporters, and banks, understand payment options, including letters of credit and insurance options and understand the challenges that need to be resolved during packaging and transport among others.

To achieve this, we have a well-planned course outline spanning from an overview of export marketing, how to find buyers, legal and trade documentation, how to receive export payments, packaging and transport to linking farmers with prospective exporters.
