The red valencia groundnut variety which takes 90 days to mature has become more popular to farmers over the cheplambus variety that matures in six months yielding 700kg per acre. With its high yield ability of at least 1.6 tones per acre,the Red Valencia earns farmers sh3000 more over the cheplambus variety.
